Fascination Mystery
Two passions- for literature and for art- have accompanied me from the beginning. That one for literature led me to my first profession. After having studied philology (German and English language and literature) I became one of the headmasters of a German Gymnasium, responsible for the organisation of the language and fine art department and teacher for German , English and drama. Teaching children and adults literature, analytically and creatively, was a great pleasure . I put on stage many plays especially by Shakespeare or by international dramatists of the 20th century. Parallel, as an autodidact, I got informed about the history of art and continued developing my abilities as a painter. Experimenting with different materials, colours and techniques I found my own style that can be described as mainly figurative , often mixed with abstract elements and here and there with a slight touch of surrealism.
I have never ever lacked of themes which come to me by the things lived and experienced, and by those imagined, felt, dreamed and thought of. But the scale of themes is basically unlimited for in the realms of mind. spirit and soul there are no boundaries. My main interest is directed towards man and the mystery he is surrounded by from the beginning to the end and perhaps also beyond all this. Painting became my second main profession and since 2001 I have been working as a free-lance artist in my atelier in Dortmund. I was born in Gelsenkirchen- Buer, Germany. I'm married and have two children.
