Art Work by Bjorn Richter

My studio and galleries are situated in southern Norway, surrounded by fjords, forest and mountains. The location in the middle of great nature provides constant stimulation for my ideas. Since 1985 I lived, worked and exhibited in Norway. Before that I lived as graphic artist, printer, designer and sculptor in Germany, the United States and Denmark. I work in the fields of painting, illustration, graphics, sculpturing and writing books. Whenever there is time I teach art and arrange workshops.

The close contact to nature is my great inspiration...consequently my Gouache paintings are very influenced by my love for nature which I use in creating a spiritual language of messages and impulses. I believe in the challenge of developing diverse creative talents as well as styles. While my water-colour paintings and the labour of sculpturing becomes a needed playful element of expressions, my Gouache -Paintings lie closest to my heart. The working technique for Gouache paintings is a combination of airbrushing, brush painting, drawing and graphic effects. Colours, techniques and working rhythm are tools to express signals, messages and a visionary language. My work becomes a form of meditation, a search for insight into the creative, poetic soul.

The expressions are descriptions of nature, the familiar outward environment, but in much my visual Universe I am intensely preoccupied with the parallels of the human psyche, its inner landscape and condition. The real challenge is the cultivation of the spirit, - the inner environment that allows me to understand and contribute to a change of the outer world. I seldom feel tempted to use titles for my images. Thousands of signals and visions lead to a painting. Other minds will cross my path or even join me on the spiritual journey where free reflections need no guidance

Solidarity with suffering globe.

If you are willing to spend three to five minutes forwarding this video to a list of like-minded "soul-mates" I would consider it a donation to my project. Gratefully I would then send you the next link in the series. Bjorn Richter
