Mariëtte Hehakaya started to play piano when she was about 8 years old. Her touch and musical talent were recognised quite soon. When she was 12 years she played her first piano concert from W.A Mozart. At the age of 15 she was admitted to the conservatory and combined this study with her highschool Gymnasium) several concerts followed, among those concerts there were performances together with youth Orchestra's conducted by Ru Sevenhuisen.

Together with these and other Orchestra's Mariëtte toured through Europe and cooperated in recording sessions. When she was about twenty she gave concerts, worked with musical ensembles, made compositions for fashion shows and worked as session musician in recording studio's, recording compositions from Dutch composers. When Mariëtte finished her study at the Conservatory she started to study the Dutch law in which she hold a bachelor and followed a study in management. These studies she used to work in the corporate world. The last 10 years Mariëtte uses her talent and enthusiasm to teach her students to play the piano. In 2004 she started a project for Unicef, together with her piano students she made a CD called "I play piano for Unicef" and sold over 1000 copies in 4 weeks. In 2006 Mariëtte was asked to produce a CD with compositions special made for the tennis game.
This CD, Lawn tennis on the Grand piano, contains compositions that never before were recorded.In 2009 Mariëtte decided to stop her activities as piano teacher, to direct her time to composing and producing music. Mariëtte started to record her latest compositions for the production of her new CD River Tales. On this CD she works together with guest musicians on several other instruments. The Cd will be released spring 2012 by DMI Records
